IMPROVER SESSIONS

The Outrunners is more than a running club.

We’re a group who want to improve the lives of young people in East London through offering our skills, experience and time.

By joining us you’re becoming part of a friendly, non-judgmental and supportive community.

We’ll help you take your first steps to a 5k, find the confidence to tackle a half marathon or simply discover the joy of running with others.

No-one is left behind.

We take this philosophy into the local community where you’re encouraged to get involved with the Outrunners' youth charity.

You could help run one of our sports youth clubs, volunteer at a careers event, tap into your network to create opportunities for local young people or show your support by coming to one of our fun runs.

For our Tuesday session, we recommend that you can already run for an hour without stopping. However, you don’t need to be quick. We structure those sessions so that people who run at different speeds can all train together.

  • For our Saturday session, we keep the session contained so you don't need to worry about distance. For Tuesdays, we run between 8k and 14k depending on the type of training we’re doing i.e. speed or endurance.

If you can already run 10k in about an hour, we would recommend you come to the Tuesday session. The Tuesday session is mixed-ability. For the Tuesday session, we have a bag drop all year round, but please only bring one bag per person.

  • We recommend wearing lightweight trainers. If you’re unable to get a pair, talk to us as we may be able to help.
